Day 01 - Arrival to Sri Lanka - Negombo

Welcome and Transfer to Your Hotel in Negombo

You will be warmly greeted by our representative who will escort you to your hotel in Negombo. Negombo is just a short drive from the Bandaranaike International Airport, giving you plenty of time to relax and prepare for your tour the next day.

Your first night in Negombo will be the perfect start to your vacation. Take a leisurely stroll along the serene beach, where you can unwind and rejuvenate-something even the best spa can't match.

Negombo is a city full of charm, offering plenty of attractions for you to explore. You can admire colonial-style buildings, visit the bustling fresh fish market, or simply enjoy the breathtaking beach. For dining, there are numerous restaurants offering delicious dishes and entertainment, including live music on select days.

Day 02 - Negombo - Wilpattu National Park - Anuradhapura

Visit Wilpattu National Park

Today will be an exciting day as your tour in Sri Lanka begins. Your first stop is the Wilpattu National Park.

Wilpattu National Park

Established in 1938, Wilpattu National Park is located in Sri Lanka’s dry zone, not far from the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura. Over time, many kings and queens have sought shelter here for various reasons.

The park is home to a diverse range of wild animals and is famous for its natural lakes that attract both wildlife and migratory birds. Some of the mammals you may encounter include the Sloth Bear, Sri Lankan Leopard, Spotted Deer, Mongoose, and Buffalo. As for birds, keep an eye out for the Whistling Teal, White Ibis, White Egret, Pintail, Owl, Eagle, Junglefowl, and Painted Stork. The park is also home to reptiles such as Mugger Crocodiles, Cobras, Rat Snakes, Indian Pythons, and various turtles.

In addition to the fauna, Wilpattu boasts a wealth of endemic flora and fauna. Visitors often take the opportunity to capture these unique experiences while exploring the park.

You’ll travel through the park in safari jeeps with experienced guides who are familiar with the best times to spot wild animals. While the prime visiting time is from February to October, the park is open year-round and offers opportunities to observe wildlife during any season.

After an adventurous day, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Anuradhapura, where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful night.

Day 03 - Anuradhapura - Sigiriya

Day Tour in Anuradhapura

Pack your bags as we explore Anuradhapura, an ancient kingdom rich in history. Once the seat of power, the city is now full of ruins that tell incredible stories. You’ll visit palaces, temples, and statues, each with a unique historical tale to share.

Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura was a prominent kingdom from the 4th to the 10th century. The city's planning and success were credited to King Pandukabhaya, who overcame internal battles to rise to power. The city flourished with international and national trade, and the king created a trading quarter that significantly boosted business relationships. This was also the era when Buddhism was established in Sri Lanka.

Today, Anuradhapura is a major archaeological site for tourists, and farming practices like paddy cultivation still thrive. Key attractions include the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, Abhayagiri Stupa, Twin Ponds, Aukana Buddha Statue, Isurumuniya Lovers Carving, Jetavanaramaya, and the Mirisawetiya Stupa.

After a day filled with history, you'll head to Sigiriya for an overnight stay.

Day 04 - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

Visit Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya

Get ready for an exciting day as we explore Polonnaruwa, another city rich in history, and Sigiriya, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site.

Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa is a significant religious and historical site in Sri Lanka. Visitors can explore the Parakrama Samudra, the Seven-Storied Sathmahal Prasada, the Buddha Statues at Gal Vihara, and the Moonstone of Polonnaruwa. The area is also known for its paddy cultivation, surrounded by serene and breathtaking beauty.

Sigiriya

Sigiriya was once the site of an imaginary palace built by King Kashyapa, who fled his kingdom and sought refuge in this isolated spot. Today, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage site, drawing tourists from around the globe. The site features impressive landmarks such as the mirror wall, frescoes, the Lion’s Staircase, the Sky Palace, graffiti, and gardens. While climbing Sigiriya may seem challenging, the view and experience are certainly worth it.

You can also enjoy elephant rides, shop for souvenirs, and visit the museum.

After a full day of exploration, you will be transferred back to your hotel to relax for another exciting day ahead.

Day 05 - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Matale - Kandy

Today, explore the historical and cultural richness of Dambulla, Matale, and Kandy.

Matale Spice Garden

Start your day at the Matale Spice Garden, where you will learn about Sri Lanka's endemic spices and herbs. The garden features spices like Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Saffron, Mace, and Pepper. Your guide will walk you through the history and processing methods of each spice.

Dambulla Cave Temple

Next, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site located on a massive rock. The temple features magnificent caves with statues of Lord Buddha, ancient kings and queens, and gods. The main five caves are known as the Cave of Gods, the Cave of Great Kings, the Cave of Great New Temple, the Cave of Western Temple, and the Cave of Second New Temple.

Many people consider visiting the Golden Temple of Dambulla a blessing.

Kandy

Conclude the day with a visit to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Known for its historical importance and vibrant attractions, Kandy is home to the Temple of the Tooth, Gem Museum, cultural dancing, Kandy City Center, Royal Botanical Gardens, and more. During the annual season in August, it also draws large numbers of worshippers and tourists.

Day 06 - Kandy - Pinnawala - Peradeniya Botanical Garden

Start your day by visiting the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you will learn about the conservation efforts for Asian elephants.

Located in the Sabaragamuwa province, this orphanage is home to many injured or orphaned elephants. Here, tourists have the opportunity to volunteer, see baby elephants being bottle-fed, and watch elephants bathe in the river. The Royal Botanical Gardens

After your visit to Pinnawala, head to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy. Day 07 - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Day 09 - Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park

Today, you’ll embark on a thrilling day tour to Yala National Park, one of the most fascinating wildlife zones in Sri Lanka. It’s a unique opportunity to witness endemic animals and capture their beauty to cherish when you return home.

Yala National Park

Yala National Park covers about 140 km and is home to a diverse range of wildlife. The park is open from early morning to evening, allowing you to explore a vast area in a Safari Jeep. During your tour, you’ll cross several rivers and have the chance to encounter the “Big Four” — Elephants, Sloth Bears, Leopards, and Wild Buffalos.

In addition to the Big Four, the park is home to 40 other mammal species, including Toque Macaques, Golden Palm Civets, Red Slender Lorises, Fishing Cats, and more. Birdwatchers will delight in spotting the Grey Hornbill, Sri Lankan Junglefowl, and Sri Lanka Wood Pigeon, among others. Reptiles like the Sri Lankan Krait and Mugger Crocodile, as well as various fish species, can also be found in the park.
