Day 01 - Arrival to Sri Lanka - Negombo

Transfer to your hotel at Negombo after a warm welcome at the airport

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and escorted to your hotel in Negombo. Negombo, just a few kilometers from Bandaranaike International Airport, is a city of true beauty and numerous attractions. It is a perfect spot for beach lovers. You can relax by the beautiful beach and enjoy various water sports, beach games, or even a ride in a catamaran or fishing boat.

Day 02 - Negombo - Pinnawala - Sigiriya

Pinnawala and Sigiriya Tours

After enjoying your breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your tour. On Day 02, you will head to Pinnawala to visit the Elephant Orphanage, followed by a trip to Sigiriya to climb the magnificent Rock Fortress. Don’t forget to have your cameras ready to capture these unforgettable moments!

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Located between Colombo and Kandy, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established in 1975 and became home to many orphaned, abandoned, and injured elephants. It's known for having the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. Visitors can participate in feeding the elephants, including the baby elephants who are bottle-fed.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a stunning rock fortress located in central Matale, Dambulla. Built by King Kashyapa, Sigiriya features Water Gardens, Cave Complexes, Boulder Gardens, and much more. Visitors can explore the ruins and climb to the summit, where a palace once stood.

You may also enjoy an elephant back ride before heading to your hotel in Sigiriya for an overnight stay.

Day 03 - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa City Tour

On Day 03, you will visit the great ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa. With its rich history, Polonnaruwa tells the tales of past glory. It was during King Parakramabahu’s reign that the kingdom thrived, with agriculture being a key industry. Polonnaruwa has now been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Today, Polonnaruwa remains one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Sri Lanka. As the second-largest city in the North Central Province, it offers you a fascinating tour to witness the remains of this ancient city.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Sigiriya for an overnight stay.

Day 04 - Sigiriya - Anuradhapura - Mihintale

Anuradhapura and Mihintale City Tours

On Day 04, you will visit two of Sri Lanka's major cities: Anuradhapura and Mihintale. Both cities are rich in historical significance, offering a unique opportunity to explore the ancient past of Sri Lanka.

Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura, a major city in the North Central Province, is one of Sri Lanka's most important historical sites. Once a leading kingdom, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the dry zone, Anuradhapura is renowned for its advanced irrigation systems that supported paddy cultivation. Visitors can explore ancient ruins including palaces, monasteries, temples, and statues.

After Anuradhapura, you'll proceed to Mihintale, a significant historical site.

Mihintale

Just 12 km from Anuradhapura, Mihintale is a mountain forest with deep historical roots. It is believed to be the site where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka by Mahinda Thero. The area is home to caves once used by monks for meditation and residence. The surrounding boulders, monasteries, and statues add to the historical aura of the place.

After a day full of exploration, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 05 - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Matale - Kandy

Visit Dambulla Cave Temple, Spice Gardens in Matale, and Kandy City Tour

Today, you will embark on a day tour that takes you through three incredible attractions: Dambulla Cave Temple, the Spice Gardens in Matale, and the Golden City of Kandy.

Dambulla Cave Temple

The Golden Temple of Dambulla is known for its long and storied history. Located just a few kilometers from Anuradhapura, the Dambulla Rock Temple consists of five viharas, or small caves: Devarajalena (Cave of Gods), Maharajalena (Cave of Great Kings), Maha Aluth Vihara (Cave of the New Temple), Pacchima Viharaya, and Devana Aluth Viharaya (Second New Temple). These caves contain statues of Lord Buddha, gods, goddesses, and great kings and queens, all surrounded by beautiful murals. One of the caves is especially famous for the miraculous water droplets that fall from the ceiling, even during droughts.

It is considered a blessing to visit these caves at least once in your lifetime.

Spice Gardens in Matale

Your next stop will be the Spice Gardens in Matale, where you can explore a world of aromatic spices. The garden is home to a variety of spices, including cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, saffron, chilli, nutmeg, mace, and vanilla. During the tour, you'll learn how each plant is grown and processed. The tour ends at the spice garden shop, where you can purchase any spices you desire.

Kandy City

Kandy, known as the Royal City of Sri Lanka, is a major tourist destination. Surrounded by lush hills and rocky mountains, Kandy offers breathtaking viewpoints and numerous attractions. The city is especially famous for the Kandy procession held every August. You’ll enjoy exploring the city and taking in its beauty, and after a long day, you’ll return to your hotel in Kandy to relax.

Day 06 - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya City Tour

Start your day with a trip from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, just a few kilometers away. As you move towards the central highlands, you'll notice a drastic change in the climate and atmosphere. Nuwara Eliya, known for its cool weather, is a major tourist attraction year-round for both locals and visitors.

Embrace the refreshing air as you listen to the songs of the birds and immerse yourself in nature's beauty. Take in the stunning surroundings, and don’t forget to capture a few shots at the picturesque tea plantations along the way. The charming narrow roads and breathtaking scenery create the perfect environment for a memorable day.

End your day by relaxing in the serene atmosphere at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 07 - Nuwara Eliya - Ravana Waterfall - Yala National Park

Visit Ravana Ella and Yala National Park

On Day 07, your tour takes you to the famous Ravana Waterfall, followed by a visit to Yala National Park for an unforgettable experience.

Ravana Ella Waterfalls

Ravana Falls, one of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, is a breathtaking sight. The falls are surrounded by historical significance, being linked to the legendary story of King Ravana from the Ramayanaya, where he hid Seetha in caves behind the waterfall. The majestic flow of water cascading down multiple tiers makes it a popular destination for visitors.

After enjoying the falls, your journey continues to the Yala National Park.

Yala National Park

Yala, the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka, covers an area of 978.8 km², consisting of five blocks, two of which are open to the public. It's famous for its safari rides where you can spot leopards, elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, and other wildlife, including sloth bears and crocodiles. The park is also home to many bird species, both endemic and migratory, making it a birdwatcher's paradise.

After an exciting day exploring these two attractions, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Yala to relax and prepare for another adventurous day.

Day 08 and 09 - Yala - Bentota

After breakfast, the next two days will be spent enjoying leisure time at one of Sri Lanka’s most famous beaches, Bentota.

Bentota, located on Sri Lanka’s Southern Coast, is known for its stunning Bentota Beach. This beautiful city attracts numerous tourists seeking relaxation in a serene setting. You can engage in various water sports such as water skiing, jet skiing, deep-sea diving, snorkelling, swimming, boat tours, and beach volleyball. Alternatively, you can simply relax and unwind on the beachfront, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Day 10 - Bentota - Colombo - Airport

Colombo City Tour and Departure

On Day 10, your tour comes to an end. You'll be taken on a Colombo city tour, where you'll get to explore Sri Lanka's commercial hub and one of the most lively cities in the country. During the tour, you'll have the chance to experience luxury spa facilities and visit some amazing shopping complexes. You can shop for shoes, clothes, jewelry, and accessories from your favorite brands.

After your city tour and shopping experience, you'll be transferred to the airport for your departure.
